They want to know how to lose weight, balance hormones, get  energy levels up, detox, etc…There are some basic principles to follow if you want to pursue better health and vitality.  If you are not willing to follow the basic principles, then you will be fighting an up hill battle.  You didn’t get into the condition you are in overnight and thus it will take some time and dedication to achieve better health and well being, but it can be done.  I have seen many people turn their life around because they were willing to make some important lifestyle changes.  How serious are you about regaining better health? We live in times where we as a society are being bombarded by poisons, toxins, and chemicals.
They are in the food we eat, the water we drink, the air we breathe, and the environment we live in.  They are everywhere.  Go into your local grocery store and the shelves are lined with food that contains GMO’S, BPA, MSG, preservatives, additives, pesticides, hormones, and the list goes on.  Is it any wonder why so many people are health challenged when we consume this stuff that is being called food?  Even the water we drink from our tap is chock full of chemicals, toxic agents, and pharmaceuticals. Our bodies were not designed to thrive under these conditions.  Add to this the large amounts of stress so many deal with day in and day out and the load becomes more than we can bear and our bodies start to break down.  The good news?  You can start today to turn this ship around.  Even if you take baby steps, you are still taking steps forward.  I take it that you are serious about change or you wouldn’t be reading this.

                                   Diet Changes To Take Back Your Health

  • Eliminate gluten foods.
    This protein irritates the gut.  Gut health is everything. Let me say that again, GUT.HEALTH.IS. EVERYTHING. Heal your gut, heal your life.  You gut affects your moods, hormones, brain chemicals and immune system. So yes, it’s a BIG deal. Gluten causes inflammation.  Maybe you don’t have celiac disease but that doesn’t mean that gluten has zero effect on your health.  When you eat gluten and it causes inflammation and you continue to do, you are setting yourself up for leaky gut. Leaky gut is when your gut is permeable ( has holes ) from constant inflammation and this allows for things to leave the gut and enter your bloodstream where it should not be.
    This sets you up for a variety of health problems, food allergies, and auto immune diseases being among them.
    Gluten has played a large role in gastrointestinal issues, mood disorders, poor gut flora, and skin problems as well.
  • Eliminate sugar.
    Want to know one of the most powerful ways to dismantle your immune system?
    By consuming the strongly inflammatory food we call sugar.  Simply said, sugar is an immune suppressor.  Sugar keeps the white blood cells from doing their job.  This makes it nearly impossible for the white blood cells to attack bad bacteria or other microbes.   That being said, this should cause those who are fighting cancer or trying to avoid getting it to really think about this one.  There is a way to have a sweet indulgence with very little to no sugar.  As you read on you will learn how.
  • Avoid processed food.
    When you shop, load up on whole foods.  Stay away from instant, processed food that is loaded with preservatives, fake colors, toxic artificial sweeteners, additives, and chemicals. These things are very hard on your gut and not beneficial for overall health and well being.  Make sure to get ample amounts of fruits and veggies into your diet. If you can’t eat organic which is preferable, then eat from the clean fifteen list.
  • Add probiotic rich foods and beverages to your diet.

  • Consider making and drinking bone broth daily.  Bone broth has collagen that is very healing for the gut.  Let’s face it after many years of bad eating habits it can take quite a toll on your gut.  Why is gut health so crucial, because this is the heart of your immune system!  Another thing, did you know that most of your serotonin (the happy brain chemical) is made in your gut and NOT your brain.      It is HIGHLY recommended to make this incredibly healthy, antioxidant rich, alkalizing, and detoxifying, cancer fighting smoothie!I make it big enough to be my breakfast and my lunch.  For dinner, I typically eat either a salad or vegetable and an organic meat.  This has done great things for my health when I stick to it.
  • Beverages through out the day that are very cleansing and detoxifying such as dandelion root tea ( excellent for kidneys and liver!) , water kefir, and stevia lemonade.
    NEVER EVER DRINK TAP WATER! This is what I do for my drinking water because I am VERY picky about high quality water, VERY.  I choose filtered water hands down, quality filtered water.
  • Add healthy fats to your diet.
    This  article here will explain what a powerful food like coconut oil is.  Good fats provide essential fatty acids, they are good for our skin, hormones, delivering fat soluble vitamins, and are energizing.  Organic butter, soaked and sprouted nuts and seeds, organic olive oil, and avocados are also excellent sources of good fats.

Lifestyle Changes To Take Back Your Health

    • Look for ways to reduce stress in your life.  Ask yourself what is causing me stress and then work out a game plan to reduce it.  For example, I have a lot to do in the morning as soon as I wake up.    I had so much to do in just a little space of time and that was causing stress and anxiety issues.  So, now I make my husbands breakfast and lunch the night before.  Whamo! Less stress!  Another example,  If you know that you are going to have a full day and are pressed for time, fill up your slow cooker with a meal that can cook all day and be ready when you need it later so you don’t have to worry about mealtime.  You can see where I am going with this.  The ideas are endless.
    • Get better sleep.  You need some down time for your body to repair itself.  Don’t go on devices before bed, this messes with the quality of sleep.
    • Exercise.  Look for an exercise that suits you.  Try to stick to 3-4 days a week and make sure your physician is ok with it.  I choose rebounding as part of my workout routine.  Why?  Because it is not only an excellent exercise but it also cleanses and detoxifies your body at the same time! It increases your white blood cell count and improves lymphatic drainage.  These 2 things alone work to enhance your immune system.
    • Get rid of the chemicals in your life.  After I found out that fluoride was simply a toxic waste product I ditched it!  I opted for a healthier alternative. I threw out all my toxic cleaning supplies and learned how to use safer products like vinegar , baking soda, and essential oils.

I make my own laundry soap using washing soda, baking soda, castile soap and vinegar.  No, I don’t use Borax after learning it can be an endocrine disruptor. I use chemical free feminine products, shampoos, conditioners, deodorant, soaps, lotions, etc…..

  • Get that cell phone out of your pocket!  In fact, get that cell phone off your body!  Would you put a microwave oven on your body while it is running?!  Guess what?  That same radiation ( rf ) is in your phone.  I am seeing cancers sky rocket in YOUNG PEOPLE!  Never before, ever have we seen cancer rates soar like now.  Do I blame it all on cell phones? No. But, it is my belief after looking into this topic that you are not doing your body any favors bombarding it with RF radiation almost constantly.  After I read a news article about a girl getting a tumor in her breast the shape of her cell phone (which she carried in her bra) I guess that was enough to convince me that these devices are not as safe as we like to believe.
  • Stop smoking.  We know smoking can cause cancer, emphysema, and poor health in general.
  • Do some deep breathing.  Take just 5 minutes as often as you are able to and do deep breathing.  it is known to reduce stress hormones and relax you.
  • Pray.  There are studies proving the beneficial effects of praying.  It does reduce stress and create a sense of peace.  When I went through severe depression, reading the Bible and praying had a HUGE impact on my health.

A lot of these changes don’t cost a thing, they are free.  These changes are the foundation for a healthier life.  If you have specific health challenges, in some cases you may need to look into a protocol specific to you and with your doctor’s supervision.  In many cases, these steps we outlined above were enough to make a significant change in people with compromised health.  Again, always check with your physician before making changes in your health regimen.
